Most artificial Christmas trees are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or molded polyethylene (PE), which are types of plastic. Some high-end trees might use a combination of both materials to achieve a more realistic look.
With proper care, an artificial Christmas tree can last anywhere from 5 to 15 years. This makes them a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option in the long run.
Measure the height of your ceiling and subtract about 12-18 inches to allow for a tree topper and stand. For width, consider the space you have available in your home. Slim trees are great for tight spaces, while full trees are better for larger rooms.
Hinged trees have branches permanently attached to the center pole, which makes setup and takedown easier. Hook-in branch trees have individual branches that need to be attached to the center pole, which can take more time to assemble.
Pre-lit trees are convenient as they come with lights already installed, saving time and effort. However, if the lights fail, it can be more difficult to replace them than on an unlit tree where you add your own lights.
Start by assembling the stand and base. Then, attach the sections of the tree, beginning with the bottom and working your way up. Fluff each branch to give the tree a full, natural appearance. Finally, decorate as desired.
Separate each branch and spread out the tips. Bend the tips in different directions to cover gaps and create a more natural, full look.
Disassemble the tree, and store it in a cool, dry place. Use a storage bag or the original box to protect it from dust and moisture. Ensure all parts are packed securely to prevent damage.
Ensure that the stand is on a flat, stable surface. Adjust the screws or bolts on the stand to stabilize the tree. If the tree still leans, check if the sections are properly connected and aligned.
Yes, our trees are fire-retardant treated and meet the EN 71-2 safety standards. However, it is still important to follow general fire safety practices and keep your tree away from open flames and heat sources.
It’s not recommended to use real candles on an artificial Christmas tree due to the fire hazard. Opt for LED candles or other safe, electric lighting options.
While artificial trees are reusable and can last many years, they are made from non-biodegradable materials and have a carbon footprint due to manufacturing and shipping. However, the longer you use your artificial Christmas tree, the less impact it will have compared to a real tree, which also has an environmental impact due to factors like tree farming, transportation, and disposal. This makes artificial trees a potentially more sustainable option if used for many years.
Recycling options for artificial trees are limited. Some components, like metal stands, can be recycled. Check with local recycling centers for specific guidelines.
The NF S54-200 safety standard in France ensures that artificial Christmas trees sold on the French territory meet specific safety requirements for the protection of the metallic ends of the main branches. This standard mandates that:
- Artificial trees must not have any sharp points, and the ends should be bent to prevent injuries.
- Each end of the tree must undergo testing to withstand a 60N traction force, equivalent to a six-kilogram weight to ensure that the branches can withstand the weight of decorations.
All our artificial Christmas trees comply with these safety standards to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday experience for our customers.
